question for power pole/talon guys

Got an engineering question. I really want a talon/PP, but cant afford to buy two of them. So, with that being said, I have an idea I want to run by y'all. I am thinking of buying one pole and attaching a device similar to my elementary drawing that is attached.

I think somthing like this will prevent the boat from spinning in the wind or current like two poles do. But I am afraid the attachment would cause too much torque/twisting on one pole.

Can anyone provide feedback on this?

Minn Kota's site says:

"Rugged Anchoring Spike.
GUARANTEED FOR LIFE! With composite fiberglass construction, the innovative spike on Talon is designed to withstand years of abuse with unmatched reliability."

I might just try it and, if it breaks, get them to send me another one!

The force of the wind blowing on your boat will definately cause it to twist and probably damage the Talon/Powerpole
