What River ?

I need some input:

I'm planning a trip down the river this weekend but i dont know which river. Upper hooch or the Etowah. I've done both just looking for info now on the river level which would be easier for a canoe. With little rain fall so far this year it could be a long trip down the etowah near the tunnel. Ant info or opinions would help.

Thanks.

Ideally for the tunnel section you want the water level to be about 3 with a discharge of 300cfs or so on the Dahlonega gauge. Current is around 3 but flow is pretty low. Might be an OK trip just a little more paddling than normal.

SASS249-

Thanks for the info. We went last year later during the Summer months and we did alot of canoe dragging. It was still a good trip.

One of the things I do is keep a log book of trips. I record the dates, locations water levels on the appropriate gauge and how the trip was. That way I can look back and see what levels are good or bad for a particular trip. Keeping a log is a good habit to get into
