Limb change to increase compound weight?

I picked up a Bear Encounter. It was advertised as a 40-70 lb bow but after reading the specs, it's only a 60 lb. I usually shoot 65 to 70.

Can I order a set of 70 lb Bear Encounter limbs, are is there more to it than that? It looks like I'm loosing 20 FPS shooting the lighter limbs.

As long as the limbs are still made (I'm not familiar with many Bear bows), then you should be able to get the limbs with no issue. Most limbs are anywhere from $120-200 for a complete set. Then you'll need someone to swap them, which isn't necessarily hard if you have all the tools and a press, but it can be time consuming.

I've put David Barnesdale limbs on all of my hunting bows, 70/75 lbr's they are Bowtechs but he may make limbs for your bow.

Good Luck!
