Early spring

My pear trees and some sawtooths are starting to show signs of budding out. Way to early imho. Lost a bunch of trees last year due to late April freeze. Can’t imagine we’re done with that yet. Probably loose more this year. Hope not. I think the drought the prior year didn’t help either. Basically ain’t much I can do but watch and hope they make it. I’m definitely not going to try and cover them. Way to many and most way to big.

There are products available to delay flowering but hardly worth the cost. Regardless, we aren't done with freezes that's for sure.

Yeah I’m sure we’ll have more freezes it’s just to early in the year not to. I’ve seen frost many times in May. I really think the prior drought weakened them and the late April freeze in 17 finished them off because they were already weak. I hope that’s the case. It’d be different if it was a food plot but when it’s trees you been nursing for 4/5 years it really bites. It’s all good it’ll work itself out!
