I saw a thing that you hold (like you would a piece of wood) against a spindle sander while running that cleans/erases the wood particles from the sand paper to increase the life of them.

What do you call the "eraser"?

Anyone ever use them?

Old crepe sole sandal works just as well (if you can find one). Trick with either is light pressure or you'll just load the abrasive with rubber.

I use one, I especially like it to clean G10 dust off finer grit belts. Not that I do much in the shop lately but I use it often when I do.
