Deer season is getting really close. Would be a great live from the tree feature.

Tapatalk is probably the EASIEST thing to add to Vbulletin. I did it in less than a couple hours on a board I ran for our high school marching band before we decided to just use facebook. Are the IT guys even on the forums? Hard to believe they would not be....

I would be willing to assist with a "Tapatalk Donation". I could spit a 5 or 10 towards the cause. if 35-50 of us did... thats a lot of moolah and we might be able to sway someone... however if it falls through where does that money go..... just an idea.... Mods/admins contact me if you want me to head it up, etc.

Last time I checked, a tapatalk license was @ $1000.

I'd donate.

The tapatalk would be free to the GON forum to install. The only thing y'all would have to pay would be to but the app which is only a few dollars.
"Q: How much does it cost?

A: As a forum owner you are free to activate Tapatalk in your forum" from the tapatalk support and it also is not that hard to install

It's hard to believe Tapatalk isn't in place, let alone in the works.

If it's a money issue, add me to the donation list... I'm good for 10.00 U.S.

This is new (free version).

The stand-alone price has been lowered to $799.

The forum is running vBulletin 3.7.4 which is supported by Tapatalk.

From what I've gathered, there isn't anything it does to the directory contents... it just sits on top and reloads all data to the app.

Why would the GON need its own app though? The way I understand tapatalk works is they install it and then the users can pick which forums they want to read. Could you explain why they would need the basic package compared to the free one?

The level of customization.

That and it is just cool to have your own app.... Seriously, I don't really see why. Forums are not a competitive market, so it would be ok to go the free route and just be listed in the directory.

Well, since no one seems to be willing to even give a reason why it isn't available on GON (except to blame the IT guy) I guess the fact is they just don't want to make it easier for us to use the forum from our phones.

What other logical conclusion is there when after all this time so many folks have made it clear that it would be a good addition for them?

BTW, the new gon app is basically useless... wish y'all had just done the tapatalk thing instead of wasting time going that route.

I thought for sure I had seen posts here that said, "Posted using tapatalk...". Must have been on another forum I'm on.

I regularly use tapatalk for other forums. Really can't understand why GON would refuse to install it. We are moving away from desktops to laptops and now to smart phones. Please GON peeps, install it!

Tapatalk?....... Why doesn't GON just create their own app through forum runner like F150forum.com and satelliteguys. So easy to browse and upload. I would pay a one time fee of 10 or 20 bucks to have this....

Why go through the time and effort to write and support it? All they have to do is add the tapatalk plugin and they're done!

GON has an Android app. It's not as good as tapatalk but it beats nothing. The only down side to it is you cant see photos.

Beats nothing, but just by a tiny little bit. There are plenty of downsides besides the photo thing. They need to go with TAPATALK !!!!

Comments from them back 14 months ago said they "might" get to it one day if the other more pressing things to do got caught up. Doesn't seem it's gonna happen.

For what it's worth I have installed it on a couple of forums and takes less than an hour including downloading the app and configuring it.

The fact that this forum is not available on a smartphone platform is crazy!!!!!!!

Create a supporting members section, charge $10 for the year and do something with the money.

I'm a member of another forum that is basically free but has a separate section with more content for donating members. I would gladly pay that for a GON membership especially if it made surfing with a smart phone easier.

I would gladly pay for the tapatalk app if GON would get on board. It is so hard to post pictures to this site and get it right. C'mon GON get on board with this.

And still nothing! Since my last post I've downloaded tapatalk and it's so much easier to browse through selected forums on my phone than it is to visit them through the computer. GON is flat out crazy if they don't get on board with tapatalk. I mean after discovering all you can do with tapatalk, I understand just how much this forum is in the dark ages.

Not to mention tapatalk has an extremely easy and convenient way of posting pictures and videos without the need to an additional app.

Still can't believe GON has not stepped into the world of tap talk just falling back into the back seat. So easy to use its like mp3 compared to the 8 track.

I'm not sure ANYONE has enough clout to get them to go to tapatalk. They are clearly against it for some reason which they don't seem to think we are mature enough to either hear or understand so they simply stay silent.

My gut says is has something to do with "control" and them being concerned that they would somehow loose some control if it were being used. Only thing that makes sense to me anyway.
