Because I came across something like this once as a child.
10 steps later I kept finding these things in the trees.

I was going to say bridge of some kind...I know it's probably not over water though... If it were NF land, I could see it being something to do with logging, etc. way back when. Has me stumped...go back w metal detector and dig around a bit...never know

Looks like a grave site, but its big. Could be from an old old cabin.

The America Unearthed was real interesting. They believe the Mayans came to Georgia and farther south.

The Mayan Georgia connection with the Mayan Blue testing seems to be a plausible theory and they seem to have done a good scientific test to prove the possible connection. Several of the things shown on that show are very interesting and certainly makes you wonder. Some of his ideas are a little out there but most seem reasonable.

ever been to Kennesaw Mountain? they have cannon embankments

Yeah that timber looks to have been cut in the past 50 or less years but thats irrelivent timber cutters work around things like this and much stranger daily.

I live right off kennesaws property line. its a big no no to metal detect on federal land
