I have an older hawken that has had a charge and bullet stuck in it for a few years. I have tried and tried to get the bullet pulled out. I gave up a couple years ago. Anyone have any ideas, I would love to reserect this thing and kill with it.

Pull the nipple and work as much powder as you can into the bolster. you'll have to do some tapping and settlin to get it in there. Put the nipple back on (make sure its clean) and fire it.

You will want to make sure the bullet is seated at the bottom again if you have pulled it part way.

I've done this a few times.

There used to be a kit that used a CO2 cartridge to expel an old charge.

fixin' up a forgotten smokepole

It's great to breathe life into an old relic that has been written off, ain't it?
I'd bet it won't be put up loaded again.
