Snowmelt may be a problem at that time of year. Get advice from local outfitters. Fish high if snowmelt is happening.

I'm heading to Estes Park next Saturday and am going to try to book an "Evening Hatch" trip wtih Kirk's Fly Shop early on in the trip- for the price, it will give me some intel on what the fish are doing and let me check the conditions out. Might be worthwhile to do the same

I was there last 4th of July. The best bait I saw used was power bait balls in cheese color. Saw some beautiful big rainbows caught!
