It maybe early to mid 1800's with the solid back strap on the hilt and that eagle head pommel. Probably an infantry or naval officer's sword. A cavalry saber would have had a heavier curved blade. Swords were purchased by the military from a lot of different manufacturers and some were imported from England and Europe which resulted in variations of the swords carried in the field.
