I found this point on the way to my truck after shooting my turkey. It is the best find I have ever made and it is in exceptional condition. The point is still sharp and pointy compared to most of my finds. Any info on it would be great.I stole my wife's phone to get better pictures. My camera in my phone is messed up.

Maybe it is a Bolen early Archaic period 9,500 to 8,500 BP.... I am just guessing by looking at your pictures though.

It is very nice!

It looks like it's probably made from heat-treated chert, which would rule out the older stuff. It looks like a Leon or some similar Woodland-era point, which would put it at around 1,000-1,500 years old.

Really nice find! What general area did it come from? That is quite helpful for nailing down an ID, too, as the point types in south GA are usually totally different from the ones in northern and central GA.

found it in southern crisp county. I thought it was heat treated due to the reddish color but was not sure of the type. I am just happy to find one that is not broken or missing parts.

Nice point. The material looks like some I`ve seen come out of Turner County.
