Depends: if they are cutting a new line, unless you are in a wildlife program with them, they may very well apply a herbicide that will limit what you can plant back, for more than a year. If you cut a swath through a forest; you will get an abundance of trees, bushes & tall weeds that are released by the removal of the canopy & soil disturbance.
Enquire of them if you can participate in one of their programs; whereby they will not poison your ground & you will assume responsibility for preventing regrowth of trees in their ROW.
At that point, correct your soil deficiency, kill the weeds, plant warm season & cool season crops in as much flat acreage as you have, control weeds & grow clover on slopes not amenable to tillage.
If you want the all around best attractant in the fall for deer go heavy on the oats. If you want marginal attraction in the fall, but a good year round food source, go with whitetail institute clover.
