Cohutta Turkey Hunters..

Hi folks looking for advice. My son and I are planning to hunt the Cohutta for turkeys in May. I know it's a bit late but we plan to hike in, setup camp, scout, and hunt the PM and the next day. I have hiked most of the trails in the Cohutta and was wondering if you can give me any pointers.

Rough Ridge or West Cowpen..

Haven't been to rough ridge since the burn. Is it still there!?!

lol... that's reason for my post... stand corrected "East" Cowpen. It's been 5+ years since I have hiked or been to the Cohuttas.

The burn is greening up nicely. 3 Forks North should be a good starting point. Good luck to you fellas.

Rice camp trail is a nice hike in. Once you get past all the little creeks and evergreens there are some nice hardwoods all the way to the river.
