I'm going to fish there one morning and one evening on our way down to Steinhatchee for a tournament. Any thoughts/ / suggestions / concerns? I've never fished this lake. It looks to be very scenic.

You mean Alligators or Florida Gators. Alligators scare me a little. Florida Gators don't scare me at all.

So what do I need to know besides don't stick my hand in the water? Are they aggressive when landing a fish? Do I need my AR 15 for protection?
I can't imagine you'd be in any kind of gator danger fishing from a bass boat unless you fell in somehow. Even then I don't think you'd need to worry. I kayak fish around gators often. There aren't a lot of gators where I fish and they aren't over 10', but the only thing I have to worry about is losing another topwater lure to one. I've had to pretty much stop fishing topwater after dark which stinks because there's nothing like a big bass blowing up on your bait in the dark.
