Gross score or Net

When you are looking at a buck what score do you think is the most important....Gross or Net. I know the net is what counts for the book but I have seen some deer that were "deducted" to death. So what do you think is the more important score in judging a whitetail. I placed a poll on this in the Deer Hunting section if you want to place your vote there.

Bone is bone, "net" is for record books, I'll take gross all day over net

Shoot what YOU want.....

This isn't about shooting what you want, this is about the best way to represent a deer to other hunters when telling about your hunt. I can tell you I shot a 10 point and that tells you very little, I can tell you I shot a 150 inch typical 10 point and that tells you alot; however, these deductions seem to take alot away from a deer if you think net is the way to go and that's what got me wondering which is a better representation of a buck.

I Try to shoot mature bucks weather they are 90 or 150

I understand that, but when you tell the story of your buck to friends and other hunters how do you reference the size of your buck....do you just say 8 point or 10 point?

Go with gross score; best way to convey how much bone a buck grew.
