My wife and I are building a home and the house is to be pre-wired for a basic security system. We haven't done any research yet on security systems and we have a quote for $2500 which which would include smoke alarms and keypads and appears to be a pretty comprehensive system. I haven't looked at it in detail but $2500 seems pretty high. Any thoughts?
