Default My first piggie

Not much of a pic, but this was a 100lb + sow. Got it at Redlands WMA just before dark last night. Hadn't seen any turkeys so thought I would do a quick check down by the river before heading home. Sure enuff, she came trotting out within 20 yds of me.. so popped it with the muzzleloader.

Came to find out the deer/hog processor in Winder has been shut down! So had to carve out the hams myself.

Way to go! Nothing like the first one with a muzzle loader. Give us some more detail on load, range, and weapon. Thanks for posting.

CVA Optima, Nikon BDC scope. 245 gr Powerbelt over 120 gr pyrodex.
Range, 20 yds offhand. Brain shot, broadside.. went right down.
Man, I couldn't believe it bcause I have been snooping around the wmas for years trying to nail one. I shot one last August at Charlie Elliot (also near dark).. 100 yds, but it ran off squealing, and never could find it even the next day.
Now I get my first taste of wild pork!

It's great when you put in all that time ,effort ,practice, and miles and miles of walking and then everything just falls into place and you get a shot. It's called hunting. Again' congradulations.
