Granulated vs pellet protein feed??

I'm considering buying protein feed for deer for the first time, I spoke with someone who sells it and he has granulated and pellets. Granulated is cheaper, what are the pros and cons of each?

We had a powder blend made for us 2 season ago. We noticed the best results in horn growth that year. However it was a pain to keep dry. Also keep in mind that we use boss buck feeders. So the pipes kept clogging.the nice thing was we could add minerals and di cal straight into the powder.

We were thinking about building trough feeders with roofs, do you think it would work well with those?

the feed does no good for the deer and wastes money if it gets wet. Deer won't eat it.

Best are weather protected pellets like Buck Booster by Ware Milling that have a weathershield coating.

We also feed out of a few trough feeders. The powder does better in them. We have also noticed higher consumption out of the troughs. However, it is nice to put 1,200 pounds in a boss buck. You don't have to worry about them running out.
