On a new club in Middle GA least year and got a quick lesson on how not to put corn out when bears or hogs are around.

here in the mountains we refer to those as "200lb black rats" cause that's basically what they are. they're terrors on bird feeders too.

Hogs will find corn on the ground for sure. We had to go to a feeder that the hogs can't reach and our hog activity went down and deer went up.

Not much you can do about the bear I don't think. If a deer can get to it, a bear can tear it up.

We put our feeder 30' in a tree because of Bears. They will stay on a food source till it's gone and run the deer off. We don't do a lot of off season feeding.

I have a picture of a bear wrapping a feeder around a tree, welded angle iron. 3 strong men couldn't do that.

Just had a thought, from some test I have seen, bear don't like the smell of cayenne pepper, if you could put it on your feeder where it doesn't get into the food, that might keep them out. Not sure if the scent nearby will scare deer off or not though. Might be worth a try.
