When I troll for crappie, I long line troll I don’t use a float I troll jigs I tie, or troll southern pro curly tails on a 1/16 jig with sickle hooks. I have s variety of colors. I haven’t bought a Minnow in probably 7 years.

Southern Pro Hot Grub and or Bobby Garland Baby Shad in Blue/Silver or Blue/White/ Chartruese, 1/16oz pink head trolled at 1 mph will catch crappie anywhere in Georgia.
Those 2 are my go to colors for loading the cooler with crappie. I haven't bought minnows in years.
