Guess what guys and gals? Fall is in full swing and anyone that knows me, knows I have an indescribable obsession with kingfish. There is nothing in this world like hearing that TLD scream, dumping 400 yds of line in mere seconds, feeling that 45lb kingfish shaking his head as he tries to escape at 40 MPH. The Red Snapper have been easy obviously since they're so thick on the reefs (not big but make a samich). The bottom will get better and better as the water temperature drops as we await the nearshore sheep bite to start.

Inshore has been trout, trout, and more trout. Still close your eyes, spin three times and throw your cork and reel in a trout.

I hope everyone has a great week, and feel free to ask any questions you may have. There are plenty of fish for everyone :).

You can't beat a big king peeling off drag! Any tips for inshore trout, a good boat ramp, and maybe a place to buy live bait? Im going to be headed out that way soon for the first time instead of the gulf as my buddy stationed at Hunter has a house with a place to park the boat now.

Good morning my friend. Live shrimp under a popping cork is the most productive way to trout fish. That being said, when I fish for them personally I use a gold flake Zman pre rigged shrimp under a popping cork to whack and stack. Clean water is very important as is they are line of sight feeders. Look for still water next to moving water and remember those trout sicles could be at the end of the rip ten meters off the bank. It's tricky learning to fish here because of the big tide swing. I would recommend getting someone that knows the area well. I'm in Helen and am getting a guide tomorrow because I know nothing about this fishery. I would put in at Turners creek and fish the Salt Ponds in wassaw sound. What time of year are you coming?
