can you do the straight stainless cups? the laser engraver we have at work only works on things that are coated in something.

Yes, I can do straight stainless. You have to use a product called cermark to get the laser to etch and not just reflect off the stainless. But once the laser hits the cermark it turns black and etches whatever you are trying to put on the stainless. Then you just rinse the cup off and you are good to go.
