A couple of good State Parks not too far from Statesboro plus the National Wildlife Preserve in Savannah isn't a bad trip either.

Neat history and wildlife at Harris Neck NWR. Savannah refuge gets loaded with waterfowl in the winter.

I've been to Savannah NWR, All of the islands, And state parks. I've not really heard of Harris Neck. I would also like to check out the Altamaha Plantation. I want to find old structures and what not. Like the old river houses on the flint, The plane crashes in N. Ga
