Pork Loin

I have a massive pork loin in the fridge. I was going to take it to hunting camp this weekend. It unthawed a little bit when the kids left the freezer door open. It did not unthaw all the way through. The edges got a little soft.

How do I know if its still safe to eat?

Smell of it. If it didn't unthaw all the way through and get warm then it should be fine. I would smell check it, if it stayed cold I would cook it.

Feed it to hunting buddies.
If they are ok the next day, eat leftovers.

If it was still mostly frozen, I don't see how it could have gone bad.

Should be fine. I doubt the thawed part got to above 40* for any length of time.
