Gunrunner shows????

I am thinking of hitting up that Gunrunner show in Griffin this weekend.

Has anyone been to a show by these folks lately? If it is anything like the crap Eastman puts on, I will just save my money. I am totally over his glorified flea market where they won't even let you carry in a gun of your own to sell. I have been to tons of shows over the years, and Eastman's have just become so awful. I have no patience for flea market arts and crafts. Any show where you cannot bring in one gun to try and sell will never see my business.

-Thanks
-J

I wasnt aware that you couldnt walk around with a gun to sell. Seems like the only good deals I got at gun shows was from individuals walking around. Kind of defeats the purpose going if you ask me.

Yep-

Certain shows allow it, and certain ones don't. Once I heard that Eastman no longer allows you to take your own stuff in, I was done. Their shows already sucked, but that was it for me.

Was still allowed at the Eastman show last week. Several deals were made in the building and parking lot.

I went to the gunrunners show in Conyers a few weeks ago. I won't be back. Not even close to being worth the money to get in. I can't believe they won't let folks bring a gun in to sell. That would make it a deal breaker for most people.

Gunrunner's is still growing. They do not yet have the number of vendors that Eastman or RK offer but have done okay by haveing shows where the others have not been before/or in years.

That said the dealers they have are offering about the same items and prices that the other gun shows do.

Wow-

I have noticed several posts here about guys not being allowed to sell their stuff inside Eastman shows. Maybe somebody changed the policy, but I have read about guys being told to leave because of this policy.

Folks will believe everything they hear. Eastman shows do allow you to carry in,
but they don't like the public trading among each other.
WHY?
My opinion is that Matt Eastman has become so greedy over
the years that he has forgotten where his fortune came from.
Not the dealers, but every man woman and child that will
grease his nappy palm as they enter the door.

I was at the last Eastman show in Gwinnett and they were not stopping anyone from bringing in guns. I do belive their signs outside the entrance states that all transactions are to be between an individual and a dealer, have been for several years. It also states all trading is to be done inside the building in which the gunshow is being held and not at the doors. Never seen and situation where Eastman has stopped individuals from trading and selling. Not a big Eastman fan and sure am not trying to defend, but they do draw the largest crowds as far as gunshows go. I will be attending the Gainesville show this weekend, if I see any cases were individuals are not allowed to trade and sale I will be one of the first to ya'll know about it.

I don't understand....

People can bring guns in, but they can be asked to leave if they trade amongst each other, and not to a dealer (who will totally rip you off?)

-I'm not trying to be a smart butt-but why else would anyone bring a gun in? The thought of selling to a dealer at a show honestly never would have entered my mind.

Back in the day, shows were great places to meet and greet anyone, buy and sell whatever you wished, and no one ever would have cared whether you sold to a dealer or a regular guy.

-I guess I just come from a different time. The whole concept that any gun show organization could/would frown on individuals doing business in this manner is just completely foreign to me.

-I will just continue to vote with my dollars-and ensure that guys who run shows in this manner will never see any of mine.

Shoot. I planned to sell a gun at the next Gunrunner show in Columbus. Guess that's out. Maybe I'll sit in the parking lot with a sign.

Gunrunner also allows you to bring in your personal firearms.

O.K. Folks, Here's how it works.
When you see an individual with a firearm,
you politely say, "Whatcha tradin' in today?"
He replies "Ah, just my old 30-30"
You Say "Nice gun, what you gotta get outta it?"
He says "I'd like to get $200"
You say "I'll give you $150"
He says YES or NO.
You use your head, you can still trade.
If anyone says anything, then you tell them goodbye
and finish the transaction over a Krystal Burger not far away.
It is still America and you are still in Georgia.
See how simple it is. I've done it time after time,
both on the buying and sellling end.

You are right.

It just is a complete shame that people would have to resort to that. It is a different world. Honestly-I never could have imagined anyone who runs a gun show complaining about such a transaction even a few years back.

I have been to quite a few shows recently, and have always seen guns for sale by individuals....the RK show I just went to at the Expo in Atlanta had the normal folks walking around with back packs with signs stating what they were selling. Like some others have alluded to, if you want to get a deal....stand by the front door and watch who comes in.

Can not believe everything you hear/read. Most of all from some folks that for one reason/or none do not like Eastman or RK or Gunrunner or whoever.

One person a while back who was asked to leave had several guns and sat them and himself down at an empty table at an Eastman show. Do not blame Eastman or the other vendors for not likeing that as the dealers had to pay $75.00 per table and Eastman has to pay to rent to building.

I just went there.

It wasn't bad. The tables were way too close together-so it felt really crowded, but most of the stuff was actually gun-related. Not too much junk-certainly much less junk than I am used to seeing these days.

not too bad

I went to a gunrunner show in Commerce. It was more like the old shows I remember as a kid compared to an Eastman show in there were a lot of people walking around selling and trading and a lot of the tables had a wide range or mostly old and interesting firearms. Just seeing tables full of new guns sitting on their boxes bores me.

Well, I personally have had Matt Eastman send a deputy over to me at the Gwinnett show to say I couldn't sell a gun that I had a sign on to the public. maybe it was because I was in front of his partner/brother-in-laws table, I don't know, When I asked why, the deputy said "because you don't do background checks". They let you bring all the guns in you want . They just want you to deal with dealers. I also always enjoy the same deputy that goes up and down the line before the show opens saying " don't sell to anyone in the parking lot, you could be selling to a felon." I know they have a felon detector at the door to keep any felons out!

I see this is an old thread, but i have been to many eastman shows and always carry in a couple firearms, heck sometimes I have 4 or five) never have i been told I could not do this, and I have not missed but a few shows over the last 5 years here in ga.

I will say I just went to a gunrunner show and was very VERY disappointed and their were a couple dealers that were flat rude, one in particular telling how worthless my benelli H&K super 90 was, the prices at any dealer tabnle there was higher than either of the three guun shops io do business with, you would think you go to a show to get a good deal, not at gunner runner these days.

I will also ad that I have not seen a good gun show here in a couple years now, they are all turning into a flea market of new gun sellers, and the smaller ones only complain about the bigger dealers that have lower prices, the small guy with used good deals are far and few between any more, I do not think i will waste my time going to another gunrunner show though, they really do not want private sellers there or discount big retailers, you will see once you check the prices on the table

here it is a year later

well ok maybe not a year later but it is the next year <g>
still the gun runner show was terrible, I thought I would give it another try, buy all I did was waste 42 miles each way and 16 bucks for the two of us to get in, on average the guns at this show are 100 dollars higher than in the gun stores, 399 for a 380 lcp? all the prices are like that

I learned this time and won't waste my money again
