Antelope suggestions

Bobby,

I was lucky enough to pull a doe tag in NE Utah with zero points this past year. I drove out to do the hunt myself. Took a few days to feel out the herds, but there is a ton of public land there. Utah fees are much lower than surrounding states, but I think I was just lucky to pull what I did. I bagged a doe, butchered her in the sage, paid a local processor $4 to freeze her (and refreeze my jugs). I hunted chukar in in the hills for a week after that and she was still frozen when I got back here.

There is no shame in hiring an outfitter if you like that route, but its absolutely doable without one. Several above have mentioned randy newberg, his podcast and show are great resources.

I'm hoping to repeat the trip in WY this year and take the dog after sage grouse, unclear if the lottery and season dates favor me. The odd public land issue about WY mentioned above is that designated Wilderness areas are off limits to nonresidents of the state without a guide.

$2500 could be a 3 year pronghorn budget if you'd like it to be.
