Jackson lake fishing

Just moved to McDonough and wanna take my son fishing for the first time. Any places we can bank fish on Jackson? Not looking for any honey holes, just a place I can take my son, catch a few fish and enjoy each other. Thanks

At the dam $5 parking fee picnic tables even a swimming area restrooms. Good luck, I would not reccommend the weekend or a holiday.

If I lived in McDonough I'd get a pass and try the Henry county electric only lakes. I've been gone 10 years but there used to be some decent fishing in them. I had an electric boat but there was bank access.

Agree. Try the reservoirs, Jackson lake or the ocmulgee river. Lake spivey wasn't too far or too bad either. Fished all of them when I lived there. The ocmulgee river Is the next best thing to the chattahoochee river at west point if you ask me. It has been a few years though...

Welcome to mcdonough! I'd echo the comments on the water reservoirs. You wil need to buy a permit , but is a nice place and you will catch fish for sure.
