Inshore Kayak Fishing St. Simons/Jekyll Area

I'm new to inshore fishing in the St. Simons and Jekyll area. I've done a lot of bass fishing in my yak (Ascend FS12T) and I'm very comfortable and confident in it.

I know how to catch redfish, trout, and flounder but didn't know what precautions other inshore kayak anglers take when inshore fishing when it comes to tides, chop, etc.

I've had to paddle upriver and against current before and it's not fun.

Does anyone have any suggestions of launches that I could use to get started doing some fishing?

I've searched and can't find anything very specific on any other threads.

Might want to try the Georgia coastal fishing threads, those guys have a wealth of knowledge of that area. Jekyll has a tidal pond I've seen people fishing and the 4-H clubs have kayaks they use to yak around the creek that is to the left of the boat ramp. It wraps back around the water park, not sure but you might be able to navigate to St Andrews point. If you do try it, keep in mind the tide swing, that creek empties at low..
