How is the bass fishing on Blue Ridge right now? May get a chance to go next week. Haven't fished Blue Ridge since the spots have taken over.

2 of us fished it last Thursday. We were using bluebacks and our bait was no good three casts and they wee dead. They did marginally better freelined. We ended up with five spots in the boat and a really nice crappie. Like, pushing two lbs. nice. We dont see many crappie that big in these relatively unfertile mtn. lakes. Had a nice largemouth and a couple of pretty good spots come off at boatside. Didnt catch the first smallmouth which is what we were really after. All spots were released into a pan of hot grease.

Hopefully the spots will be biting, would like to release some in the grease myself

It is good.have put over a 100 fish in boat in 3 trips.

Let us know how you do. I’ve never fished up there. It’s on the list for this year though.

Been years since I fished it. Last time I fished there there wasn’t any spots.
