Bibb county bear siting

While hog hunting at Bond swamp Thursday I had a sow and cub walk by me at 30-40 yds. It was an awesome site and made the trip that much Better. I know it is illegal to shoot a bear on the NWR but there are some nearby hunting clubs that may be interested in this.

Only bear season in middle Georgia is a one day season on Ocmulgee WMA.

I was not aware of that...thanks. I see you're from Macon...do folks see many bears in that area?

In that area yes. Too many bears. I hunt next to Bond Swamp and have a handful of deer feeders they tore up.

It is funny that most middle Ga. hunters always seem to fuss about bears tearing up feeders, that is a easy meal for a hungary bear, remove the feed and bears go away!!
