Turkey Poults

I saw some yesterday here in the Lowcountry - my first time seeing them. The were just a couple of days old (I stood right over them) - we watched the hen go back to them shortly after that.

are they typically born during turkey season, or what is the normal time for poults to be born?

It only takes about 28 days to hatch.

Hens hatch this time of year every year. It is a little early but nothing out of the ordinary

I have been hearing of poults being seen 4 weeks ago. I think the hot weather early in the year got the breeding cycle started a little earlier this year than most.
