This pretty deer just popped back up on Camera with a pretty double throat patch. What do you guys think on age? He broke every tine off last year fighting, and he's a lot bigger this year.

The way his neck merges into his brisket would imply at least 4.5 years old. My guess would be 5.5 years old. Great deer.

anyone ever get a photo or see a young deer with a double throat patch? I've never noticed one before I have killed older bucks with them.

Yes. I had a fawn (believe a doe fawn) on cam last year with a double throat patch. She was a twin. About the time their spots started going away, she quit showing up on cam. No pics since.

That deer in your pic is a trophy for sure. Mature buck with an awesome coat and a nice rack. Hope you can connect on him this year.

Typical genetics when we hunted down near Lake Eufala Alabama. We called em Ring Necks.
