This little fellow was under my carport last night. Any idea on species?

Looks like a juvenile rat snake from here.

thats a dead juvenile eastern rat or " grey " rat snake

not a banded water snake

If that's a round pupil and no fangs then it's what we always called a white oak snake (grey rat snake).

Not to sound like a cyber DNR officer, but in GA it is illegal to harm in any manner a non-venomous snake, and that is a non-venomous snake. It could be any of the named snakes above, juvenile snakes can be hard to i.d. at times, but there is no doubt, it is non-venomous.

I vote rat snake. good climber. Actually, my wife sat down on the porch this morning and felt something on her foot. When she stood up, one about that small came out of her pants leg. And yes of course it was my fault...
