I'm heading up there in two weeks myself so I'm curious to how the bite is.

Fished yesterday in the rain. Water temp was 61-65 degrees and the shad spawn is going full blast. The largemouth and spots look like they're about to start bedding, as I saw a bunch of fish shallow. I caught a large female on the bed between 6-7lbs. Also caught 10 spots that averaged about 1 3/4- 2lbs. would have had a decent tourney bag!
No sign of a smallmouth anywhere.
Caught three fish on a fluke and the rest came off a KVD signature series jerkbait. Fished a finesse worm and then a jig for a while. Never got bit...
