I was trying to figure out what animal /bird was making a galloping noise one morning while I was hunting. It went on for a couple hours and then it moved further and started again. Can anyone help me?

Haha I wish! If it was he was long winded! It was more of a clucking sound but the pattern was exactly like a gallop

Odds are in favor of the flicker! I haven't seen or heard a grouse in Ga in 25 yrs. Once you see and hear it though, you'll never forget it!
