My bro wants to go shrimp seining and wanted to go in the next week. Thinking about amelia island/st simon. Do you think the shrimp was affected?

It's not the shrimp I'm worried about, they will be there.

It's the amount of beach erosion and condition of the beach that concerns me. Have not been able to find any photo's on the net of how much erosion occurred due to the storm. Last time I checked, there were 100+mph winds from the east during the peak of the storm.
The two storms last year caused 30" of beach erosion at St. Andrews. This storm was much worse. A lot of that erosion was since recovered, however, this storm was worse than both those combined, could be bad.

They began letting people back on the island today, but still power outages, sewage problems, and most businesses still closed. Could be days before things are up and running again at Jekyll. St. Simon's got slammed pretty hard also.
