squirrel dogs

Gone But Not Forgotten
I've got an 8-month old feist.This is my first squirrel dog and I hope to have her hunting after deer season.She has a strong desire to hunt and has already treed a few squirrels,but only by sight.Do you have any tips for getting her to use her nose more?

I've got a little JRT that will be a great squirrel dog one day and act like he's never been worked with in his life the next. 
I don't know if you could call him a squirrel dog or not. :

I've got a few.
A Fiest female and male
Streak breed mtn. cur male
and 3 Rat Terriers the Rat's are young but plan on gettting them going
this year.I'm planning on going all Rat terrier on my squirrel hunting seem
to be the smartest dog I've been around.

I have a giant JRT that is tree minded, all he does is look in the trees every time I go outside where he is. Going to take him to the WMA just as soon as it opens back up for small game.
