Yep, alligator bobber corks. 
If you want one cheap, get an old truck tire, cover it in burlap and add nylon straps. Remember, don't go near the dam at Seminole, it ain't a fun ride down.

it can be VERY effective. used to do it all the time. course i hunt further north with no gators. use it and a guillie suit and you can disappear. just gets cumbersome getting it to your hunting spot if you are planning to transport it by boat. oh, it gets cold too. ha

A gentleman died doing that down there 5 or 6 years ago, right? I just remember the story vaguely. Seems I remember a dam worker that saw the guy go over, and they found him down river.
