You fellers have been trolled. I give the dude a 8.5 on a 10 scale. Story had just enough normalcy to be believable.

What gave it away was that it was "hit" by a car. No worries about backlash from wasting a road kill. That allowed the Op to get fish on and get them to the boat.

A lease I was on in SW Ga the deer had no to a few ticks on them. We were surrounded by ag fields so we figured the pesticides they brushed against in the fields kept them at bay.

Family property in Emanuel County the deer we kill are mostly tick free and there is not a lot ag land around. Property is river bottom and sand hills. We think the type of vegetation and the sand keeps them in check. In 15 or so years have not had a single tick on me during turkey or deer season.
