Has anyone every done it? Is there a good place to seek shelter from the wind (like a patch of woods) without paddling to the sea front side? We will be coming from alley street on tybee. We're going down this weekend to give it a try, probably should have done a little scouting on the island before planning a trip but worst case we can stay in a motel on tybee lol

Georgia Kayak Fishing is going to Tybee for this same trip March 24-26. Here's what you need;
bug defense
shade
water
first aid kit
Everything else is variable.
Also, don't fight the tides. Especially if your are paddling a sit inside kayak. It it can be a pain & potentially dangerous. If the tides are big and not going in the direction that you want to go... pop a cold one and kill a little time before setting out. Ride the tides, don't fight'em!
