Mel was a true entertainer. It's also amazing how good of a song writer he was.

Did you know he wrote "Ruby" (don't take your love to town)
while visiting friends in Butler, Georgia?

Ruby was the name of the maid who was working in the home.
The story involves cooking turnip greens and cornbread, and help
with lyrics from Bobby Bare.
True story.
