Lanier Goose

Took this goose hunting from a kayak on Lanier. This was a hard-won bird. Big lake and not a lot of geese, and I was skunked many times before I finally scored.

This was probably the heaviest goose I've ever shot. He had a half-inch thick layer of fat that completely stopped the #2s before they reached muscle. If I had not him in the head he'd still be flying.

Thats funny right there. Please tell me you didn't shoot a bird out if season and post it on the web

I guess "not a lot of geese" is subjective, too.

Those pellets in the fat may be from someone that skybusted at it this morning that this bird was killed before you took it down not this morning.
