Rummaging through some stuff tonight and found a placemat from the “Challis Lodge and Lounge” that I kept as a souvenir from a former trip. I stayed in Challis in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2006…the last time I visited Challis.
Some buddies and I would travel to Idaho and stay in Challis, and then day-hunt on the surrounding federal lands (BLM). Never had a lot of luck, we were holding out for that big muley, but gosh we had a lot of fun.
Challis is a typical small western town located in central Idaho…population was maybe 1,000…and they had an authentic western saloon complete with a swinging door entrance.
Good times…anyone else been there?
