And I'm not talking about a NASCAR driver either......
24 squirrels in one season w a bow wasn't even a thought at the start. I had only one goal, to keep up w Mike.

Anyways last few weeks I haven't been really trying that hard to get one, I've slung 4 or 5 arrows at em.

Got focused on rabbits somewhat and haven't chased pigs just yet either.

I had today off and w the forecast I knew what I wanted to do. I started my day w my Big Jim Desert Bighorn and went back to my usual stomping grounds. Didn't take a lot of time, just a few hours and I had 4 in the bag.....

Took a few pics of them at the spot of the shot....

I switched over to "Twisted Dee" and went to an area I hadn't been before just to see some new ground.

This one here I earned, on my hands and knees crawling into a briar patch like none I've ever seen...

I only covered 5.3 miles for them today.

This has been the best yr yet. 16 in 3 hunts.

So after getting my limit I went and visited Marty at lunch for a bit then decided to take a walk in the area I was introduced to this Trad family at.....

This was my campsite in 2008, 7 yrs ago this journey started this month....

Anyways back then RC made "the walk" every am and pm. It was 4 miles each way. I've made it numerous times since but decided today 2 miles in I had seen enough and turned back, looking for squirrels more than anything else.....

Walked another area closer to "camp" and came across these fellows....

I was counting on this area to produce a squirrel as I've seen a lot here before but it wasn't meant to be.....

way to go Martin!! Maybe you oughtta give the squirrels a break until next season. You have already accomplished things most will never dream of accomplishing with a bow. You have done good, now go rest on your laurels. :D

Really good pic's and those briers look mighty mean. OUCH, bet they left a blood trail!!!!

Squirrels in the woods have been real spooky lately. I took 2 forty yards shot Monday. First one my arrow drop like a foot and stuck in the dead log it was sitting on. The my second shot the squirrel was gone before the arrow got there. I have a truce with my yard squirrels. The pigs are on the wrong side of the creek but they'll be back. No wrabbits around my hunting ground.

I haven't called a truce w em just yet. There's two hanging around and there's time just cracking the blind will send them running away. I do have a neighbor w plenty though. I threw a stick at one there the other day. That maybe my last chance spot. I'm having a hunt last 3 days of it and I'm hoping I'll see one then.

I may go back once more next week after rabbits. Sweet Pea needs to play a little ...and Copperhead does to.....

I've been hard after them the last week trying to get one more. Probably 12 hrs worth of just squirrel hunting.

Got #24 for the season w my 9th different bow and I used an Executioner fixed 2 blade w 4 bleeders and my Big Jim Desert Bighorn. This broadhead is one cutting machine. This one climbed a tree after the shot but didn't make it to far....

Boy I hate it when I hit them back there. Messes up the back legs for eating. Way to go Martin. Had six out back Sunday and thought real hard about shooting at one.

A fitting close for an outstanding season! Congratulations on #24. That rabbit hunting looks like a lot of fun.
