The wife and I are headed to Las Vegas this week and I have tickets to the Barrett Jackson Collector Car Auction. For those of you who have been, do you have any tips or suggestions you would like to share?

Never been, but I'd take a camera and good walking shoes.
You buying?

I’m not planning on buying-I’ve just always been a car guy and have had a lot of classics in my younger days. I’ve watched it on TV and just want to experience seeing all the cars and watch the show. I can check this one off my bucket list. Comfortable shoes, check.

It will be a great car show.

I sold one of my '70 Challenger T/A's at Mecum KC. I had a blast. It was hard not to buy something else because I saw some great deals.

My advice is do not get a bidder paddle. You may take something home and Vegas is a long drive.

Dang, I just did a search to post a link to my old car and it just sold last month again!

Here it is in 2009:

Here it is again in 2009(I had that story board made): https://www.mecum.com/lots/FL0109-77041/1970-dodge-challenger-ta-coupe/

Here's where I sold it in 2008:

A dealer bought it(at my auction) to flip it. I wish I saw it for sale last month. I would have bought it back.

Sorry for the derail.

That is one nice looking car. I have sold cars and one Harley that I tried to buy back and couldn’t. I will stay away from the bidders section which, BTW, one has to be preapproved in order to bid. I have watched Barrett Jackson on TV and just have always wanted to experience it. Can’t wait.

No tips on the car show, but make a reservation to eat at the Eiffel tower restaurant in the Paris casino. One of the best meals I've ever had.

My high maintenance sister in law really likes several restaurant places in the Wynn. The breakfast place, she loves the waffles. And ground floor, the full service restaurant is very good.

The stratosphere has awesome views of the valley. Costs to get in, but nice.

If you have a car, mount Charleston. Take 95n until you see the sign. Red rock park, west side of town. The Fed side costs a little, but the drive is nice and some easy short walks.

Old school steak joints: pieros or hugos.

The downtown area is good. At night, it's cAlled the freak show. People watching and some drinks.

Weather is about mid 70_"-80s day, but cool once Sun goes down. A light jacket or long sleeve shirt at night.

Bellagio fountains at night, across from Eiffel tower. Go up and watch. Check schedule.

Check into shows in advance. Cirque has multiple shows, depending on age, what you may like worth checking into. See website for their full show list.

And if you or Mrs likes to shoot trap skeet or sporting clays, CCSC is world class. Need car to get there. They rent Beretta I think. Fair prices.

Had a great time today at the Barrett Jackson Collector Car Auction. If you’re a car guy I recommend it if you’ve never been. Just a few pics.

I didn’t see the Bronco but I did see the Austin Healey up close. That was one nice sports car.

It seemed to be fine however there was a lot of security at Mandalay Bay and at the event which I guess you would expect. Everything else seems back to normal.

Vegas

No tips here but I am planning a trip Dec 3rd. In light of the resent shooting I will be checking out the Nevada/Vegas gun laws and such and possible changes in security.

Thanks. Just go to one when you get a chance. It was a great experience seeing such a variety of different vehicles and meeting some interesting people.
