I got a couple of pictures of coyotes urinating on top of a trophy rock on two different days, then pictures of deer licking the rock a couple hours later. Thought that was strange?

This hog is keeping most the deer from this one sight I have.

ALL mammals will use them.

They need the same things deer do.

I built a stand and strapped to a tree. Put the block up on it and the hogs can't reach it. Deer visit it frequently. Keeping feed/bait off the ground helps keep the hogs away. The coons are a lost cause.

The Oracle
Years back, my Uncle taught me a trick.

Pour your mineral bag (brown, like livestock use)
in a pillow case then put that in a burlap bag.

Hang it in a tree high enough it won't be seen
unless someone is just looking.

The pillow case will help keep the salt from eating through
the burlap.

Every time it rains, some will drip down to the ground.
Maybe a couple handfuls on the ground to get it going.
You have an "aurto-matic" mineral lick.

This kind of rig will last for YEARS for the grand expense
of one bag of mineral, one pillow case, one old burlap
feed sack and some scrap rope.

Still baiting tho',

Works like a charm. ;)

I have a 2 different foxes that come to deer cane as well as rabbits. I looked today at a card pulled over the weekend and I have 2 yotes in it and a bob cat cat walking by it.
