Homemade coon trap?

while at my hunting club that i hunt at i heard something about a coon trap that has screws drilled into the top of something shaped like a cup but the size of the coon hands and when the coon sticks his hand in the trap he wont let go of the shiny peice of tin and the screws will keep his hand caught.Is there a trap like this that anybody has made if so can i see sum pictures Thanks.

My grandpa was a trapper and described one similar using a hollow log,nails,and a dime.

I remember the same thing. The boy caught his first coon in order to train his dogs using this.

I read about that in "Where the Red Fern Grows" when I was a kid. I bored holes in every log in Haywood County for two years and never caught a thing except a sneaking suspicion that I shouldn't believe everything I read. :bounce:

That's about the only kind of trap apparantly that you can't catch a coon in.

I think they have something called coon cuffs and they might be similar?
