2018 Hoyt Lineup

I was really excited to see what they'd come out with since I shot them for a decade. I was very underwhelmed. Not saying they're not an improvement over the '16 and '17 stuff(which I did not like at all), but not what I was expecting from them.

Looks like a nice bow but for $1,600 it better come with more than a cheap soft case.. maybe 3 or 4 Iowa preference points included? I'll buy one tomorrow

In 6 months they'll be $1200.00 on AT and in a year $800.00

I buy lots of new bows. I just wait until they're 2 years old and get them for $400-$500.

Really curious to how it draws and rolls over into the back wall.that let off will really be nice on holding. Going to go shoot one to see how it shoots ready to get rid of my nitrum turbo.

Well I was able to get to Brannen Outfitters shoot the RX-1. I got lucky and arrived as they were unboxing and ended up the first to shoot it. It’s a good looking bow, some of the new color options are nice.
First thing I noticed on the draw was it had a bit more hump than with the DFX cams. It wasn’t too much considering the 340 ibo, but it was noticeable as well as expected. It was pretty dang smooth and didn’t try to dump into the valley. The wall was very solid which I guess they attribute to the “new double cable stops” on the bottom limb? Holding at full draw for a while and attempting to let down was a bit jumpy for me but I think that’s because I’m so used to the buttery-smooth DFX cams and it didn’t take long to get used to. I will say that with only a drop-away and a D-loop, it was truly the most “dead” in the hands that I’ve ever shot; I truly mean that!
I’d basically describe the overall draw cycle as a nice mix between the carbon defiant and the carbon defiant turbo.
It’s a great bow but truthfully it isn’t a big enough improvement for me to want to hang up my CD31 (which I absolutely love). That’s a STEEP price tag for sure. I just wanted to shoot one :bounce:

It looks just like a carbon defiant to me. Not what I was expecting after hearing it’s going to be a monster year. Hoyt seems to be stuck in a rut of raising price and not innovation. They need a new nitrum that thing was a beast.

I seriously doubt any bow company has a wow bow this year. 350 ibo looks to be about tops with a 6" brace height. A smooth draw is very subjective as well as how well it holds. Hard to drop that much money on the same old stuff.
