Fooled by bucks

You ever thought you finally got one of the bucks you were after, but didn't? Got this old 7 point, but after looking at old trail camera photo's, found it wasn't the buck i thought. The buck i was after has the four points on the opposite side. Darn racks look so much alike, high and nice. Now, this coming season, i still will be looking for the old 7 point i was hoping to get last season.

Couple years back, killed a wide 6 point. Thought i had got one we wanted out. Checking trail camera's later, found it wasn't the 6 we were after. But on a good note. One of my members got the right six this last season. Second photo is the buck i though i had got, but didn't.

Yep, last season. A member finally killed the old six everyone was after. 21 1/2 inches wide.

Number one buck on my hit list next season is this old piebald. He's one of the nocturnal one's.

Man, nice BIG sixes. Sixes have proven themselves completely elusive to me especially the large sixes.

Big sixes are kool looking deer, no doubt. I did a double take when I walked up on a big Maine buck I'd shot years ago. I expected to see 8-10 points with all the bone I'd seen at 100 yards across a grown up clear-cut when I pulled the trigger, but he was a six..lol. He did dress at 225 tho. I just had to get him mounted.

I saw and passed on a mature seven point this past season that should have a HUGE body next season if he made it through this season.

Wow, good to see we're not the only club that has big six point bucks. We've killed em up to 228 pounds so far. That's before the rut of course.
We get some big 8's, 10's and and a few 11 and 12 point bucks.

Best six taken off our property was taken by a member some years back. 19 3/4 inch spread with great mass.

My daughter and I were hunting a big wide 6 a few years back. I'm convinced that she killed him the following year as an 8 pt.

Here's my big 6 from last season. 4.5 year old that I knew didn't have any brows ahead of time. Not sure if he ever did, but I knew if he came by, I was going to shoot him. Shot him at 11:50am first week of November.
