Kabbalah (Hebrew: קַבָּלָה‎, literally "receiving/tradition"; also transliterated Cabala, QabbÄlâ etc.; different transliterations now tend to denote alternative traditions[1]) is an esoteric method, discipline, and school of thought that originated in Judaism. A traditional Kabbalist in Judaism is called a Mekubal (Hebrew: מְקוּבָל‎).

Kabbalah's definition varies according to the tradition and aims of those following it,[2] from its religious origin as an integral part of Judaism, to its later Christian, New Age, and Occultist syncretic adaptations.

Is New Age religion based on Cabalah?

Cabalah means "to recieve." Cabala may be defined to be a system of philosophy which embraces certain mystical interpretations of Scripture, and metaphysical and spiritual beings.”
Cabala is a “a secret science, which treats in a mystical and enigmatical manner of things divine, angelical, theological, celestial, and metaphysical.
So the Cabala is a mix of science and religion, astronomy and astrology, mainstream Judaism with dualist ideas. It’s written in code – of course – and has a multi-layered meaning.
